Gratitude has been at the centre of my mind these past few months, three months to be precise, and for good reason that it is.
Once I reached the turning point in my life, one where I chose to no longer live with a closed-mind, and one where I’d give up bathing in the richness of complacency and contentment, I decided to choose a set of lessons.
The first lesson I took was one on confidence, the second on happiness. But the third lesson, however, was on gratitude.
These are lifelong lessons, for both you and I, and these are three we should place as top priority in our lives.
Confidence teaches you to believe in your capacity to complete big goals
Happiness teaches you to create (not find) pleasure in who you are and what you do.
Gratitude is the mother of the other two. It ties them together and adds strength to them.
Gratitude helps you to command your past and create the meaning of it. It can add to your pain, or it can take it away. Of all, the best thing about it is it’s yours to control.
But it’s not for people who feel they have a perfect life already, it’s for people who’ve dealt with hardship and challenges in their life and can see the good in them. You are always able to be this person, so, start being that person today.
Don’t focus on your circumstances, or you’ll find yourself complaining. Focus on your capabilities, and you’ll always see the good and more.
Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues but the parent of all others.

What to learn this week
The topic for this week stays on gratitude. As you know, millions of us are still going through difficult and daunting times, and if you’re dealing with any stress, struggle or loss, I express that I am with you. And I am here to help you through what I write for you. I want nothing more than to give you the value I’d wish to be given and with the topics I can offer the most benefit in.
Gratitude is the staple to defining your past and past, and it will be what soothes the road to your future or roughens it.
Every morning, I do one of my favourite stretches and practice begin meditation for two reasons:
To dispel the negative energy of the past through my breathing
To begin again, and welcome myself unto a new day, as a new person.
This is what helps me express gratitude to myself. And I encourage you to find something like this and employ it for your morning or evening routine. I have no doubt that you’ll feel the benefit.
